Footsteps Newsletter - Fall 2011
Hello everyone,

Well another three months have passed, and what a wonderful summer we had in Ontario and I know that was not the case for the Maritimes.  Lets hope you all had a great summer despite the weather and managed some time with the family or a change of scene, a break from work.

I had a busy time with visits and visitors and an extra course through the summer months, a trip to Nova Scotia again and feel very refreshed and ready for the next few months.

Don't forget to check out the Reflexology conference in Nova Scotia in October.  A must for those of you who live in the atlantic provinces and a reason to visit there for those of you in Ontario.

Check out the upcoming courses we are offering and wishing you a healthy and busy few months.

Best wishes, Janet

Reflexology Practice

Setting up a reflexology practice certainly has its challenges.  I have put together some basics for you, in the hopes that this will help you achieve your goals.

Step One - Get a website. In this day and age people use Internet and Google for everything! To have a solid presence on the net is of the upmost importance. Think of a name that is clear and easy to understand and think of how people will search for your service. Talk to friends who already have one.

Step Two - Create a plan and a budget.

Where would you like to work? Rent an office in a commercial plaza? Or a room at a wellness centre or a spa? Maybe an office in a conventional medical centre? Or work from home office? Would you like to find a holistic clinic where they have a 70/30 split agreement? How much rent can you afford?   Who will do your bookkeeping and accounting? What professional associations will you choose?  What business name you will choose to register?  What about business cards and brochures?  Make three plans: business plan, financial plan and marketing plan.

Step Three - Proceed to market.

Where are your customers coming from, how are you going to attract them, who do you need to network with, who can help you in this process?

If you need more help - sign up for the Business Start up workshop we offer at Footsteps.
